Cuttings

Certain attractive landscaping plants propagate easily. Selling their clippings would seem to be an easy way for some Montagnards to learn entrepreneurship and make a modest profit.

The pussy willow (Salix discolor) comes to mind. In springtime, it's simply a matter of cutting new growth and putting them into water for a couple of weeks, during which time roots quickly appear. While such cuttings could then be planted, transplanting them into dirt and raising them for a year, with their sale in the following spring, yields a more attractive, value-added product.

Are there other popular plants that could also be easily raised and sold?
