Problem: MDA needs a van to replace its current rundown model but doesn't have the budget to pay for a replacement. A van provides vital transportation for many of our refugees who don't drive or don't own a vehicle but need to attend English class.
Transportation is an ongoing problem for nonprofits, whether it's getting clients to job sites, kids to cultural activities or families to reading programs. Often, the populations that could most benefit from various services and activities don't have cars or if they do, it's being used by the parent who holds down a job. And as we all know, the bus service in the area is very limited.
We're brainstorming to think about ways to get a 15-seat van. Wouldn't it be great if the vehicle could be super fuel efficient, even green?
